Located in the Arts District of Downtown Dallas, the Dallas Museum of Art boasts one of the finest and largest collections of art in Dallas. Amongst the notable collections are the $20 million Hamon Building Collection and the $38 million Wendy and Emery Reves Collection. In addition, the museum owns 400 priceless pieces of Egyptian and Nubian art. All together more than 24,000 pieces are represented here

The Reves Collection features paintings, sculptures, and works on paper from impressionist to modernist artists. Works by Cézanne, Daumier, Manet, Monet, Pissarro, Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec and Van Gogh all can be found here. Go through the exhibits of Chinese porcelain, European furniture, oriental and European carpets, iron, bronze and silver work, antique European glass and rare books.

While you are there, don't miss Frederic Church's The Icebergs. Works by Edouard Manet and Paul Gauguin are also outstanding and not to be missed. From the museum, Pioneer Plaza, Thanks-Giving Square, Pegasus Plaza and the American Airlines Center are located a comfortable walk away.

Later have a good laugh at Ad-Libs, 2613 Ross Ave. This comedy club is open on Friday and Saturday (214-754-7050). Nearby, Pyramid Grill (214-720-5249) features live music and a classic menu that includes filet mignon, prime rib, lamb chops, and grilled tuna steaks. Dining here is a formal and intimate affair.

Stay close by checking into The Fairmont Dallas, a popular boutique hotel where your moments will convert into memories. Dining at the onsite restaurant is in itself a unique experience. The Westin City Center, also nearby offers more activities plus loads of amenities to make you feel at home.
