Nasher Sculpture Center
Located between Harwood and Olive Streets in the Arts District, the Nasher Sculpture Center showcases the private collection of Raymond Nasher. The museum was designed by architect Renzo Piano and opened in October 2003. This $5 million project serves as a sanctuary from the city hustle-and-bustle, adding culture to Dallas life.

The three central pavilions on the main floor serve as galleries. Light sensitive sculptures and artworks in other genre can be found on the lower level while the indoor auditorium opens onto the outdoor terraced garden. Notice the visual continuity between the gallery and the sculpture garden. The garden is also used for open air movie screenings and other events.

Find amazing works on display at the gently sloping garden. Great names like Henry Moore, Auguste Rodin, Tony Smith, Mark de Suvero and Naum Gabo can be found on display here. While you are there, do not miss Pablo Picasso's head of a woman, and James Turrell's skyspace, Tending (Blue).

Once you have soaked up all the knowledge of this Dallas museum, it is time to shop around and eat at a nice spot close by. Those hungry for seafood will like the prawns and salmon at the neighboring Stephan Pyles (214-580-7000).

Check into the nearby The Fairmont Dallas, a popular boutique hotel. Dining at the on-site restaurant is in itself a unique experience. The Westin City Center, offers more activities plus loads of amenities to make you feel at home.
