Dallas has several exhibits in various museums that disclose more about John F. Kennedy's life, who was assassinated here in 1963. In Downtown Dallas, the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, located in the former Texas School Book Depository building, takes a look at the life, death, and legacy of President Kennedy.
On display you can find more than 400 photographs, interviews, and award-winning videos that chronicle the events that took place right before his assassination on November 22, 1963. A 10-by-10 foot model of the Dealey Plaza area as made by the FBI for the Warren Commission in 1964, is also on display here
The audio guide is available in seven languages and it takes at least 90 minutes to go through the museum with the guide. From here you can walk down to other Dallas attractions such as Red Courthouse and Old Red Museum and Reunion Tower. American Airlines Center and Pegasus Plaza are located approximately half a mile away.
For a sumptuous meal step into the upscale Morton's The Steakhouse (214-741-2277), 501 Elm St., where the filet mignon and Maine lobster are most popular entrees. The ambiance and the crowd is the best around town. Later, go over to Ghostbar located on-site the trendy The W Dallas-Victory. This place for the high heeled plays house grooves and features some classy cocktails and fabulous views of the city skyline.
Two blocks away, Hotel Lawrence places you across the street from the Union Station, from where its easy to get around the city. A little on the lower side, West End Hotel Downtown Dallas is perfect for business and leisure travelers. Proximity to attractions, shopping malls and nightlife is a plus point here.
