Pioneer Plaza
Pioneer Plaza celebrates the history of Dallas in bronze at its 4.2-acre site. The park is situated near the City Hall and the Dallas Convention Center. Visitors can find many bigger than life sculptures portraying a 19th century cattle drive with cowboys on horseback rounding them up. The piece, titled Shawnee Cattle Trail, are works of renowned sculpture artist Robert Summers and are known as the largest of its kind.

See the three cowboys on horseback and 39 longhorn steers in a park like setting, complete with plants, verdant trees, cold water stream, and a refreshing waterfall.
The steers are coming down a hill and go through a water stream while a cowboy attentively watches them. These running sculptures use superb angles to give a life like look.

From here, walk down to Sammy's Bar-B-Q (214-880-9064) for tasty ribs and beef brisket. This casual place only serves lunch. In the evening, you may want to check out the crowd at the swanky Ghostbar, at the W Dallas - Victory. The place is very modish and features marvelous cocktails.

Dallas Museum of Art, American Airlines Center, and Thanks-Giving Square are all located within an easy walk.

The neighboring 4 star Hotel ZaZa is known as a top Dallas hotel destination, with great shopping and destinations within an easy reach. Hotel Crescent Court, A Rosewood Hotel offers multiple dining options and a world of home comforts. Here you can have a great start to your Dallas experience.
