Southfork Ranch
At 3700 Hogge Drive in Parker, about 25 miles northeast of Dallas, Southfork Ranch is the filming site for the hit TV afternoon soap Dallas. J.R. Returns (1996), War of the Ewings (1998) and Dallas Reunion: The Return to Southfork (2004) were also filmed at this ranch.

Southfork Ranch was earlier known as Duncan Acres. It was built in 1970 by Joe Duncan and he named it after his family. The property was originally 200 acres in size. The "Mansion" at Southfork Ranch is actually a 4,769-square-foot house with a 957-square-foot enclosed garage that was turned into a den/card room.

This grand 300-acre ranch is a famous Dallas tourist attraction drawing more than 500,000 visitors each year. The Oil Baron's Ballroom is a magnificent sight while the Ranch RoundUp is a nice place to shop. Later check out what Miss Ellie's Delicatessen has been cooking. This Dallas ranch plays host to more than a thousand grand private parties and events each year.

Five miles away, Nakamoto is the nearest decent restaurant. Here you can savor Japanese specialties and dine al-fresco.

Those looking for extra security will delight in the 24-hour video surveillance at the Sun Suites Dallas-Garland located nearly 11 miles away in the north east suburb Garland. This is a good place for an extended stay. The Richardson Hotel is less than eight miles and here you can use a free shuttle to get around five miles.
