State Fair of Texas - Dallas Hotels .com

Since 1886, this State Fair has served as great amusement for the people of Dallas and the neighboring areas. Every year starting late September to early October, this fair plays host to great music performance, art competitions and fun activities for both young and the old. Food lovers can enter the eating competitions and car lovers can check out the latest model cars. Kids love the amusement rides and the livestock shows.

The Starlite parade features lighted floats, giant puppets and funny costumes. At the Chevy Test Drive you can test drive a Chevy for free, while at their main stage free concerts can be enjoyed by all. The Human Cannonball is a must-see, where David Smith Jr. soars 150 feet in the air over Gateway Plaza.
