The best is designer clothing and goods can be found at the Highland Park Village. Built in 1931, it is the second oldest mall in the United States and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. But just because the mall is old doesn't mean the fashions are. Designs come straight off the runway into high-end boutiques that make up the outdoor mall.

Anthropologie, Banana Republic, Chanel, Cole Haan, Escada, Hermes, Ralph Lauren and Carolina Herrera all have stores here. Even if you aren't going to shop, just stop by to see the mall that served as a prototype for all shopping centers built after it.
